[squid-users] Permission problems

Hello,

I have recently added a new hard disk to my system and I tried moving the
cache directories for squid onto the new disk. The way I did it was to
copy all the 00, 01, etc directories into a new directory I created and
then made a symbolic link from /var/squid/cache to this new
directory. Now I am having problems with permissions. In the cache.log
file I am getting:

2001/05/07 11:46:45| /home/squid-cache.old/swap.state.new: (13) Permission
denied
FATAL: storeDirOpenTmpSwapLog: Failed to open swap log.
Squid Cache (Version 2.3.STABLE4-hno.CVS): Terminated abnormally.
CPU Usage: 0.180 seconds = 0.120 user + 0.060 sys
Maximum Resident Size: 0 KB
Page faults with physical i/o: 425

I have tried getting rid of the cache directory and running 'squid -z'
again but that has not helped. Can anyone help me please before my users
lynch me.

By the way, this is the second time I am sending this message because the
first time, I had it returned saying that I am not a subscriber to the
list. This is not strictly true as I receive the digest version of the
list, so maybe someone ought to look into this.

Thanks,

Joe
