[squid-users] 2.3 -> 2.4, huge increase in memory usage?

Hi,

OS: Linux 2.2.19
Squid: 2.4.STABLE1 with all available patches applied

After upgrading to 2.4 a few days ago, I now see a huge increase in memory
usage when I look at the squid process in "top". Back when I was running
2.3.STABLE4 (with all patches applied) the *most* it ever showed was 30M for
SIZE & RSS. But now with 2.4 they both show 121M! This machine only has
160MB of RAM, so I'm worried it's going to begin swapping soon.

Any ideas of why this happens, and how to fix it? I'm using the same
settings I was using before. I basically copied & pasted my custom settings
I had at the end of the old squid.conf from 2.3 to the new squid.conf in
2.4.

Thanks.

Jordan Russell
