This is slightly off topic, but...
We had no problems with our warranty, using Kingston ECC RAM
(as at one stage, Sun actually SUPPLIED Kingston ECC RAM to us
as they had "run out" of supplies). The only difference we
found (which was a problem) is that some non-Sun RAM boards
are slightly thicker, which forcibly separates the pins in
the slots, making subsequent use of Sun RAM slightly
problematical in SOME instances... We never experienced
any problems, but a Sun techie said some other people had
(their story, not mine).
