Hi Colin

Hey !!!! Great !! :-) Thanks a lot !! Through strace i've found out, that
the ncsa process was trying to access 127.0.0.1 which was denied by my
firewall policy !!

Now everything works. strace is a nice tool i didn't knew about that !

Check the permissions. Look at every directory in the path to the module
and make sure the squid user can read it. Can you log in as the squid
user? That might be a better test than "su" or "su -". What's in the squid
logs? Can you trace the process execution (eg truss/strace/...)?
