you if it helps.

If I go to www.bigpond.com squid sees it as "/"
If I go to www.bigpond.com/newsletters squid sees "/newsletters"

have u checked on all options with
httpd_accel port 80; etc.?

if they are all by the book then
u can check redirection, with something like
say x your squid box, y another machin in the same lan,

try to write rule in x, so that any traffic for port 80, from y, will be
diverted to port 23... test it, now from y, do a telnet x 80; and see if u
get a loggin prompt at x!

:)I just recompiled with --enable-linux-netfilter.
:)Squid is still working fine as non transparent. but doesn't work from
mozilla as a transparent. However if I use the client program that comes
with squid it works fine. Can anyone help me.

:) Check out the Netfilter option to the configure-script and rebuild...
:) Haven't tried it myself though.

:) Me again,
:) I hate replying to my own messages, I just read something about squid
not handling netfilter properly, am I on the right track? Would you
recommend transproxy?
:)
:) Thankyou

:) Hi,
:) I've been running squid successfully as a non-transparent for a long
time. I just set iptables to forward port 80 to 3128, which it seems to do
OK. The problem is that squid is not getting the correct URL. If it point
my browser to http.www.bigpond.com (or any address) squid tells me that "/"
is not a valid address. The logs say it is receiving a request for GET / -
NONE/- -. WHATS GOING WRONG? I've looked through squids conf and can't
find any relevent options. I've also tried the forwarding a couple of
differrent ways, to no avail. If anyone could help me get this working I
would be most appreciative.
:)
:) Thanks
:) Ben
