[squid-users] running squid (another one)

I use (squid-2.4.STABLE3).
squid -k -> OK
squid -z -> OK
squid -DNY i got "Aborted"

Is this because of running as root? How can i run squid as
squid (or other as in squid.conf) while nobody can log in as
squid (the docs made so)??
