[squid-users] syslogd logging - more info

Now I'm really confused...

I decided (belatedly) that I could actually *test* this
without relying upon squid to use the local4 logging.

So, I tried this:

echo "Another test!\n" | logger -p local4.info

which still did not produce anything in the logfile. But,
I also did this:

echo "Another test!\n" | logger -p local6.info

And that worked! I don't know what to do next. The
logfiles have the same permissions and ownerships,
but it seems that local4.* isn't working for me. This
is Solaris 5.7 Generic_106541-18 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-250.

It's as if the system has local4 turned "off."

Hmmmmmm....
