Hi,
After updating squid due to the vulnerability disclosures, I
realized that the pam_auth code distributed by redhat
(squid-2.4.STABLE6-6.7.1) is using pam_auth.c v1.3.2.3 and not the v2.0
source that supports "one shot" mode. Is there any reason that I should
not build the binary using the newer pam_auth.c (pam_auth-2.0.c,v 1.2
2002/01/07 03:30:19 hno), by simply replacing the source for pam_auth? I
ask because 1.) I need to use this feature, and 2.) I'm surprised that the
squid src rpm does not contain updated helper programs that it uses,m and
3.) after initial testing, it seems to work fine.

thanks,
