Odd.. defenitely a bug of some kind. Seems to work here and at a
number of customer sites however.

Do you get any warnings/errors when you run "squid -k parse"?

Can you access the cachemgr interface after a reconfigure? If so, what
does it claim the current configuration looks like? Any difference
from what it claims after a full restart?
