hi all,
I just read the faq 23.5 How do I use the Winbind authenticators, and have a
little questione about that.

dose the samba has to run on same machine the squid is running on?

        server(pdc)
     ____v____
    | samba |
    | squid |\
    |________| \
          / \
    ___/____ \
   |win2000| __\____
   |______ | |winNT|
client |_____|
                        client

or can the squid run on its own machine?:

        server(Bdc) server(pdc)
     ____v____ ___v___
    | |==========>|samba |
    | squid |<==========|______|
    |________| \
          / \
    ___/____ \
   |win2000| __\____
   |______ | |winNT|
client |_____|
                        client

and dose the smbd actualy has to be running or mußt smb just be installed?

P.s: my last question in this faq was if i could do a user specific
authentication,
but bekause i just can use a free mail thingy i had to get an new adress for
the list.
my old adress was mFox666@gmx.de( why ever i tell you that one?).

i`m just happy about any answers.
THX maurice
