Sorry, I probably should of asked is it possible to get squid to
integrate its authentication with Windows2K Active Directory, I'm
guessing that its a bit of a long shot but ya never know.

Yerp, I figured it would slow it down. BIND is running on the same box
tho, so it probably wouldnt slow down too much provided everything is
set up nicely. Might be good to have a go anyway, if it is too slow then
I'd had have to resort to other methods.

Where would squid get the username if there's no auth goin on?
