I believe there was a discussion about two or three weeks ago on the
Squid-ICAP mailing list about this between Geetha (the Squid-ICAP
developer) and a fellow at Trend Micro. There were issues--it wasn't
clear which code was at fault, however.

You should make your desire for Squid-ICAP interoperation known to Trend
Micro. The fellow from Trend Micro was unsure whether the effort
required to make it all work was worth it to them in the market. I
reckon an email or two from their customers would encourage them to
track the Squid-ICAP development more closely.
