[squid-users] Environment variables modified for a redirector?

I'm betting the answer to this question is "no way," but I'm going to ask it
anyway.

When one writes a redirector program, can environment variables be inserted,
so the destination of the redirector receives additional, dynamic
information from the SquidCache system? I expect it cannot, as the
redirector only seems to communicate via stdin/stdout. It would allow me to
make a more elegant solution for what I'm up to. Near as I can tell, the
only way to affect these variables is to modify the Linux source.
