i think you want to exec your squid init script from /etc/rc
file.
- find it the squid section
- may be it looks like this:

case $(squid_enable) in
        "[Yy][Ee][Ss]")
                ...

and put this line come before when you start squid:
        /bin/rm -f /path/to/your/squid.pid

and try it.
