[squid-users] Compile error

I try to set up squid with the package squid-2.5.STABLE1-20021104.tar.gz
I get no error while I give the command:

./configure --enable-snmp --enable-internal-timestamp --enable-err-language=
Dutch --enable-gnuregex --enable-ident-lookups --enable-auth=basic --enable-
basic-auth-helpers=PAM

But when compiling the source squid gives the error:

gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../../../include -I../../../include -g -Wa
ll -c `test -f pam_auth.c || echo './'`pam_auth.c
pam_auth.c:65: security/pam_appl.h: No such file or directory
make[3]: *** [pam_auth.o] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory
`/squid-2.5.STABLE1-20021104/helpers/basic_auth/PAM'
make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/squid-2.5.STABLE1-20021104/helpers/basic_auth'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/squid-2.5.STABLE1-20021104/helpers'

Does anyone recognize this error?
What to do yet?
