Yes. This is the default.

Squid proposes all the schemes it supports.

The browser picks the scheme it prefers.

Squid as a client is only capable of configuring Basic HTTP
authentication, but can proxy Digest authentication from it's clients.

NTLM authentication cannot by design be proxied.
