Don't forget (as I did) if you're running GRE through a firewall, that the
GRE header takes up space, and reduces MTU, and if you don't allow ICMP
messages relating to fragmentation through (e.g. Type 3 code 4), you may get
lots of stuck browsers.

Actually, GRE has been incorporated into FreeBSD STABLE on 1st December, so
one doesn't need to patch anything. A GRE interface should be created and be
configured in order to squid talk to Cisco over that. But How?
