I would suggest that you get DANSGUARDIAN (www.dansguardian.org) with a
patch to scan and anti-virus program such as sophos or f-prot, its all there
in that site. The only downside is it will add a bit of latency.

I am not very sure of this particular filtering model; could you please
briefly enumerate the chain of boxes the traffic should traverse to get
monitorized with this schema?
