Little more information here:

This behaviour only occurs in IE 6.0 SP1 (with auth-hotfix).

The error is not reproduceable with netscape navigator.

Here my configure-options for squid:

---------------------------------------------------------------
env CC=gcc ./configure --prefix=/opt/squid-2.5S1 \
                        --enable-snmp \
                        --enable-gnuregex \
                        --enable-useragent-log \
                        --enable-kill-parent-hack \
                        --enable-err-language=German \
                        --enable-underscores \
                        --enable-auth="basic" \
                        --enable-xmalloc-statistics \
                        --enable-basic-auth-helpers="SMB"
---------------------------------------------------------------

Is there any patch for IE out there to fix this issue? Did I
may be miss something in squid configuration for this one?

Thanks alot in advance!

Regards
