[squid-users] FreeBSD or Linux ?

Hi

I will install a new squid proxy on a Compaq Proliant DL380
the box has 2.5 gb RAM and 72 Gb disks.

I wonder which operating system to use on it to get
maximum efficiency ?

Our LAN has ~800 machines connected to it that will
access to the web thru this proxy.

The choice would be between FreeBSD or Linux ( Debian )
I would like to get feedback from experienced squid admins
to choose ;-)
