[squid-users] CPU consumption

Dear squiders

Last saturday my squid stopped responding. (don't know why)
Today I had the chance to investigate the problem. I found nothing.
Squid simply consumes all CPU (99%) and stop responding.
I see no I/O with vmstat, no memory consumption with top.
I restarted it (-k shutdown and RunCache launches it again) and it works
for a few minutes and the hole thing starts again.

Environment:

Squid 2.5 today's snapshot (it was 2.4 stable-2 until this morning -
same problem with both versions)
Linux Slackware 8.1 kernel 2.4.18
Intel PII 350Mhz w/256M RAM

Any clues?
Help desperatly wanted
