Hi,

I have a problem in the authentication using NCSA module(the problem is
related in body of this message). I see in other sites that if to modify
the authetication module to NTLM the problem is decided.

Anybody have some information about this?

Regards!

Hi,
I have setup Squid (Squid Cache: Version 2.4.STABLE7 (RH7.3)) to
perform proxy caching with authentication (to LDAP, but I don't think
that relevent).

When I attempt to browse, Squid enters a line in the access.log
file like this....

1036222211.711 2 203.8.6.5 TCP_DENIED/407 1368 GET http://www.uol.com.br
- NONE/- -

I expect this, as this is the browsers first attempt to access
the site without username/password info, so Squid sends a 407 back to
the browser....

So the browser puts up a username/password prompt, and I enter a
valid username/password combo. I can guarantee you that this
authentication works.....

However, the browser (IE 6.0 latest Windows Update to this date)
just puts up an error...

The page cannot be displayed
Cannot find server or DNS Error
Internet Explorer

If I hit refresh, browsing works....I get access to what ever I
want, and the Squid access logs see all the traffic. I know this sounds
like a browser issue - its not coping with the 407 error message
properly....

Has anyone seen this problem before?
