Hi, Henrik

I already used diskd and aufs and results are same. Why it does not hit
high watermark ? According to me, if squid maintain space between
high and low mark, and it should not have that much IO access.

accessing disk ( clearing cache and writting data back should be as
seperate process..).

Which part of the code affactes the 5 sec delay in store.log file.

Let me tell you one more thing about my test.
1. I wrote script in rex and it treats as hammer.
2. Hammer starts 100 instances of wget to fire request to squid on the
server class machine.
3. I loaded few thousand objects ( gif and jpegs files with diff names eg. test001.gif, test002.gif)

4. In squid.conf, I set low water mark to 20%. I make sure, i am not getting hit from cache.

5. When I start squid, it just works file with 100 clients. Once it hit watermark and then it gives
a gap of 5 secs. after every 4-5 minuts ( not exactly after same interval).

I hope it will be useful to you to understand whole problem

Thanks
Jigar

Yes? It is called a lot..

Do you have a problem with disk I/O or with CPU usage?

If using Linux you might want to try aufs as an alternative.
