[squid-users] Forcing IDENT Lookups. Mmmmmm.

Hi All,

I have moved from squid-2.4.STABLE2 to squid-2.5 Stable2, and I am
trying to force IDENT lookups so that access is blocked if the IDENT
client is not running.

With squid-2.4.STABLE2 I had the following lines:

acl all src 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0
acl ident ident REQUIRED
http_access deny !ident
ident_lookup_access allow all
ident_timeout 5 seconds

And this worked perfectly- Killing my IDENT client denied access to
any websites, and while it ran internet access was fine and user
details were being logged in access.log.

I am using the same directives in my new (2.5) squid.conf, which
compiles fine using /usr/local/squid/sbin/squid -k parse. Internet
access is granted whilst logging IDENT info. However when I kill my
IDENT client I should be blocked and I am not. Does anyone have any
ideas?

Thanks in advance

Pali
