[squid-users] refresh pattern

Dear squid gurus

what does these lines indicate kindly explain.
#Suggested default:
refresh_pattern ^ftp: 1440 20% 10080
refresh_pattern ^gopher: 1440 0% 1440
refresh_pattern . 0 20% 4320 ---> does this
mean that for all objects the min refresh pattern is 0 mins and max is 4320
mins, if i change the the zero value what can be the results.
kindly explain.
