L2 should be 256 as it is..

Hmm.. where did I put that simple equation on the number of required L1
directories.. a there it is

or

  L1 = at least cache_dir size * 1024 / L2 / L2 / 8
     = at least cache_dir size / 500

rounded upwards

So for a cache_dir size of 3000 the number of L1 directories should be at
least 6
