[squid-users] Need help replacing a MS ISA Server on a Windows 2000 domain with SQUID

I've been having a few problems with some sites contents and would like to
try SQUID.
At the moment i'm already using squid as a web proxy but not integrated with
domain users authentication.

What i'd like to be able to do with squid would be to control access to the
internet for centain groups of users. Squid would have to be able to see who
is making the request and check if the user has permission to access the
internet by checking if it is on a allowed group.

I've seen several threads regarding NTLM authentication but don't know it
that's what i need or what guidelines should i follow in order to make this
work.

Also can also squid handle routing exceptions and upstream and downstream
proxy requests ?

Thanks
