These 2 issues are unrelated. The squid cache will optimize
Internet web access by caching sites (according to rules),
hence reducing bandwith.
Guess routers are always needed on an Intranet, and key infrastructure
elements of your perimeter network, before eventually entering
the vast universe of the Internet....
