By "ftp IP address", do you refer to the requested FTP servers IP address?

If so then your browser is not configured to use the proxy for ftp://
requests, or it otherwise does not use whatever proxy settings you have
made.

MSIE has been known to have such errors in the past if "folder view for
FTP" is enabled in the Internet settings.
