there's a problem with "ps" and NPTL at least on certain distributions
(for example Debian Sarge and prolly RH9 too). 'ps -m' wont show the
threads, but you can always look for them manually under /proc. First
check what's the pid of Squid. Then cd to /proc/<squidpid>/task. If you
can see any directories under it, then Squid is using threads.
