Have you tried searching the archives (try "transparent proxy invalid URL")?

You could also configure all the browsers to use Squid - proxy
autoconfiguration (see the FAQ) makes this fairly easy.

By doing so you'll avoid the problems transparent proxying can sometimes
cause (like what you're seeing now).
