[squid-users] Problem with address resolution

Hello,

I have a odd problem with squid 2.5 STABLE3 under solaris 8, when I try
to get into some (at least three) internal web servers, with multiple
hostname. For example, for one of these servers :

193.48.171.100 cg abctem nslserver

If I try http://abctem.ensmp.fr http://nslserver.ensmp.fr, it works
fine. If I try http://cg.ensmp.fr, the connection times out after some
time.

When I setup debug level to 3, I see the line :

    ipcacheCycleAddr: cg.ensmp.fr now at 193.48.180.196

But this isn't the IP address of cg.ensmp.fr, and it never was, and
there is nothing at this address.

Another point is that I have enabled the option :

append_domain .ensmp.fr

to be able to get into the webservers when I type only the hostname
without domain part.

If I comment out this option, everything works fine.

Maybe a problem with the resolver ?

Command line resolution works fine :

# getent hosts cg
193.48.171.100 cg abctem nslserver
#

# nslookup cg
Name: cg.ensmp.fr
Address: 193.48.171.100
#

At nsswitch.conf, we have
hosts : files dns

Maybe I can get some help.
