It depends very much on what kind of acls you are using. This is true for
both Squid and SquidGuard.

What can be said about performance is that regex lists is bad and that
redirectors (such as SquidGuard) is seriously penalized by the redirector
interface of Squid making them unfeasible in larger setups, at least until
Squid-3.0 is released and the redirectors have been adapted to the new
interface available there.
