[squid-users] Squid reverse proxy

I have been using the Squid Cache: Version 2.5.STABLE4 as SSL reverse proxy
in between two firewalls - Internal and External. There is an exchange
server behind internal firewall which is being accelerated by squid reverse
proxy. The Inetrenet access https://mail.xyz.com worked perfectly ok till we
upgrade the Exchange 5 to Exchnage 2003.

Now after the upgrade after the first authentication I get connection time
out. Same happens to the few hosts on the LAN between the Internal and
External firewall. These hosts (including Squid proxy) has default route to
the inetrnal inetrface of the external firewall. When there is no proxy
configured in browser in these nodes, connection to https://mail.xyz.com
times out but if I use Squid proxy host as browser I get mail working
perfectly Ok. Please note the Reverse proxy server I am running as caching
also for limited access for this LAN between the Internal and External
firewall.

Now my questions are why connections are being timed out.
And what causes mail access to work when I am configure reverse proxy server
in the proxy configuration of browser.

Thanks & regards,

Rakesh Jha
