I think i have got the solution for the problem

check out the point 11.9

But would like to know is there a better way i,e without recompiling and making changes only in squid.conf

in the URL or in the hostname?
the underscore in hostname is invalid - hostnames can not contain
underscores.

> * Illegal character in hostname; underscores are not allowed
