Hi,

Squid is an http Proxy, as far as I know Squid want forward pop requests.
Why don't you use fetchmail to collect your E-Mail, maybe this works, never
tried it. Fetchmail ist a unix tool but exist also for windows.

Another way would be to forward the pop requests on the server who is proxy
server.

Or you try Jana-Server, it is another free proxy server
