hi

i would like to know what is the best way to block advertisements on any
site using squid....

i found a few things on the net wchich suggest the use of an acl stored in a
file in /etc and then denying the acl but not of much use...

this was the acl definition

                      acl ads dstdomain "/etc/squid.adservers"

and the http_access definition

                     http_access deny ads

is there anything else that can be done ?

also another way was to add the domains to a the file /etc/hosts with the
address 127.0.0.1 which apparently makes the browser think that the domains
reside on the host machine and hence is much faster when they are blocked...

is there any way to do this in squid .... if yes.. please put some light on
that

thanks...
