on 6.2 you do not need to do anything alse as add the aufs in configure

--enable-storeio=diskd,ufs,aufs,null (or whatever options you like)

and it should work well, I had no problem at all with the aufs model
itself beside queue-congestion alert msgs while swap.state rebuilding was
in progress and sometimes under load. Whatever value I set with
--with-aufs-threads=N didn't helped

you probably should add or create your /etc/libmap.conf as follows

[/usr/local/squid/sbin/squid]
libpthread.so.2 libthr.so.2
libpthread.so libthr.so
