For now thats one way to work around it. Sym-linking is the other good
choice.

Missing language aliases are not on the whole a big issue. Squid should
have continued and used that visitors second-best language choice
(usually just the de).

I'm working on a portable script to do symlinks without hard-coding into
specific squid releases. It would greatly enhance the range of minor
languages supported. If anyone has ideas or want to help test it please
speak up.

I'm particularly interested in:
  * any source of info regarding what languages codes are identical to
generate the aliases for.
  * a log of what languages browsers are sending out:
       logformat languagelog [%tg] "%{Accept-Language}>h"
   (this format in particular to keep things relatively anonymous)
