No version of Squid code has such an ability 2.7 or otherwise. There are
plans and talk about adding it one day, but nothing beyond talk.

To use the internal DNS client, remove "--disable-internal-dns" from the
build options. Configure system DNS settigns, via normal hosts file and
resolv.conf or the win32 registry equivalent. Done.
