Then no accelerator options should be used on your http_port, just

http_port 80

cache_peer localhost 81 0 name=accel no-query originserver

acl accel_sites dstdomain your.accel.site.name
cache_peer_access accel accept accel_sites

never_direct allow accel_sites

The setup you had before was actually somewhat broken, makign requests
loop an extra time via the same Squid.
