[squid-users] Deploying squid on a telecom network

Hi,
I am looking to deploy a caching server on a telecom network and was
wondering if anyone has deployed squid with DPI (Deep Packet
Inspection)/Router configuration.
I would like to intercept the requests that the DPI is sending back to the
router, Do I need some router for the same or can I intercept them directly
by making the configuration changes.
Secondly, would one have to get at the packet level and micromanage all the
packets or would squid be able to manage the packets that the DPI would be
sending back?
