So with PURGE I would have to go to all proxies behind the Carps and try

Does this mean that I can send an "HTCP CLR <URL>" to one of the Carp
proxies and they take care of routing it to the correct proxy where the
content gets removed?

Also it's quite hard to find documentation about this method. Can you
please point me to some places where I can find more information about it?

AFAIK is squidclient a program written in C. Sadly my programming
talents reside somewhere else. So it looks like there is no tool to do a
"HTCP CLR"?
