My personal official position as a person is that if a company wishes to
release a non-free module for Squid then they should.

If a company wishes to include the core Squid in a product then they
must adhere to the GPL requirements about user freedom in
replacing/changing/updating/modifying GPL components, and in case of
non-free extra modules still being able to use these.
