Squid 2.5 - where is VERSION ?

Hi,

I can't find VERSION in sources of squid 2.5 obtaining with
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.devel.squid-cache.org:/cvsroot/squid
co -rs2_5 -d squid-s2_5 squid

There is no file squid/configure as it is in VERSION=2.6-DEVEL wich I
get
with
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anoncvs@cvs.squid-cache.org:/squid checkout squid
