Squid core dumps ??

I have recently mounted squid 1.1 beta 10 on a new system running Solaris
2.5, and have been getting fail messages every time squid gets a SIGUSR1
(rotate logs), but have been unable to find the core file anywhere....

It works fine on our main system, Running SunOs 4.1.2
