PUT under squid-1.1.0

Hi there!

I've been away from this list for a while, and in my new job they're
wanting to be able to "upload" files via the squid server.
Unfortunately, it looks like it isn't supported (I see "501" errors
whenever a "PUT ftp://ftp.site.com/pub/incoming/xxx.yyy.tgz" is
attempted).

The docs say that PUT is supported as of 1.0.1 - but that doesn't
appear to be the case.

Can someone tell me what I've done wrong?

[BTW: we're behind a firewall, so going DIRECT is _not_ an option].

And on a related(?) track - can someone explain what that
passthrough_proxy option is for? - there's no mention of it in the docs.
