Corrupt swap files?

Hello Squidders,

After getting some minor filesystem corruption on our proxy machine,
some of the swap files for squid are missing. Also, some of our swap files
have turned into directories, the cache.log shows this constantly:

97/01/29 10:24:40| file_open: error opening file
/usr/local/squid/Cache/09/C8/00000C89: (21) Is a directory
97/01/29 10:24:40| storeSwapOutStart: Unable to open swapfile:
/usr/local/squid/Cache/09/C8/00000C89
97/01/29 10:24:41| file_open: error opening file
/usr/local/squid/Cache/09/C8/00000C89: (21) Is a directory
97/01/29 10:24:41| storeSwapOutStart: Unable to open swapfile:
/usr/local/squid/Cache/09/C8/00000C89

However, I can't simply delete the directories in question (I've
found the rm process will lockup if I do). Does Squid just ignore these
directories/files it can't open? And is there any way to fix it?

Thanks in advance,
Adam.
