a penny dropping

The 5 point description of the cache resolution algorithm in the
docs says cryptically "or 5) fetch it directly" without explaining
under what circumstances it does so.

Just in case anyone else who hasn't yet set up a parent relationship
was under the same misapprehension that I was, defining a parent does
*not* mean that all accesses now go via the parent. This is different
from the behaviour of say a CERN cache when chained to an upstream cache.

In the squid case, anything it thinks is a cgi, or any POSTs, still
go directly. I wasn't expecting that.
