squid and linux-firewall

Hello,
i try to install squid on a linux-pc. The pc is also my firewall.
The firewall is configured. when i try to start squid it doesn't
listen on port 3128. I think some port are disabled, but idon't know
which one. Has anyone configured a linux-pc with firewalling and
squid ?
